Despues de anos cultivando distintas variedades, decidi darle una oportunidad a las Desfran Dutch Passion Seeds. Ya habia leido en foros internacionales que era una sativa legendaria, pero queria saber si realmente valia la pena cultivarla en Chile, con nuestras condiciones y limitaciones.
Primero, si: vale totalmente la pena. La Desfran es una variedad que exige, pero tambien recompensa con potencia y sabor unicos. La planta crece alta y con una estructura que necesita control, asi que fue clave aprender como elegir el entorno de cultivo correcto. Yo opte por cultivo indoor con luces LED potentes y una buena ventilacion.
La duda mas grande que tenia era donde comprar las semillas originales de Desfran en Chile. Despues de buscar bastante, encontre un blog donde no solo te explican como elegir bien segun tu espacio y experiencia, sino que tambien recomiendan proveedores serios en Chile.
Ademas, aprendi tecnicas para mejorar la floracion, evitar estres en las plantas y maximizar los aromas citricos y dulces que hacen famosa a esta variedad.

Trump’s early afternoon announcement followed a harrowing week in which Republican lawmakers and confidants privately warned him that the tariffs could wreck the economy. His own aides had quietly raised alarms about the financial markets before he suspended a tariff regime that he had unveiled with a flourish just one week earlier in a Rose Garden ceremony.

China's foreign ministry calls the U.S. a '21st century barbarian'

China's public language on its trade war with the U.S. has become increasingly bellicose and took a new turn today when Beijing's foreign ministry said the Trump administration's tariffs have made the U.S. a “barbarian of the 21st century.”
Trump’s tariffs will “never America great again” ministry of foreign affairs spokesperson Huang Jingrui, wrote in an open letter today in Hong Kong’s newspaper South China Morning Post.

“A tariff-wielding barbarian who attempts to force countries to call and beg for mercy can never expect that call from China,” Huang said, adding that the U.S. is “obsessed with the art of bullying and blackmailing the entire world.”

EU welcomes 90-day tariff pause

The EU President Ursula von der Leyen said today that the region welcomes Trump’s announcement to pause tariffs for 90 days.
Von der Leyen said the EU remains “committed to constructive negotiations” with the U.S., according to a statement from her office.
Meanwhile, Europe continues to focus on diversifying their trade partnerships, engaging with countries that account for 87% of global trade, she said.
Trump’s tariffs have shown that the European internal market is the region’s “anchor of stability and resilience” in times of uncertainty, von der Leyen added.

Trade war with China 'to spark a wave of smuggling'

Irregular trade including smuggling will most likely rise amid the U.S.' and China's tit-for-tat tariffs, an economist warns.
The cost of tariffs has become “prohibitive to almost every company,” Tianchen Xu, senior economist at Economist Intelligence Unit.
“As a result, trade flows in both directions will tumble, and irregular trade will proliferate, including smuggling, transshipment and systemic under-reporting of trade value during customs clearance,” Xu said in a note.
Xu said trade negotiations and a partial de-escalation in the ongoing trade war may ensue in the coming months, but those tensions are likely to worsen in the short term between the world’s two largest economies.

Longtime NASA astronaut Don Pettit, who has ventured to space four times, returned to Earth on Saturday night from the International Space Station. Pettit, who turned 70 on Sunday, landed at 9:20 p.m. ET in a Soyuz spacecraft with Roscosmos cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Vagner near Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan, after a seven-month stay aboard the orbiting laboratory.
The scientist invented the first object patented in space — called the Capillary Beverage, Space Cup or Zero-G cup, which makes it easier to drink beverages in the absence of gravity, and he is also a celebrated astrophotographer known for capturing unique views of the cosmos.
“One of the things I like to do with my astrophotography is to have a composition and a perspective that’s different than an Earth-centric one, typically showing an Earth horizon with the atmosphere on edge, the limb, and then some kind of astronomy, astrophotography, in relationship to that,” Pettit said from the space station during an April 3 interview with astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.
“Earth is amazingly beautiful when your feet are firmly planted on the ground, and it’s beautiful from space,” Pettit said. “And it’s hard to say what is more beautiful. I think it’s because space is a unique opportunity we seek to focus on the beauty of being in orbit. If we had people living their whole life in orbit, when they come down to Earth, they would probably think that was the most beautiful perspective they’d ever seen.”
Pettit takes his photos from the cupola on the space station, a favorite of crew members due to its seven windows that overlook Earth.
